How the Toast platform interacts with loyalty programs

To perform loyalty account operations, the Toast platform communicates with a third-party loyalty program service provider. The loyalty program service provider maintains information about customers' qualifying purchases and determines the loyalty program discounts that a customer can apply to checks.

The Toast platform supports integration with a specific set of third-party loyalty program services. When you associate a customer's loyalty program account with an order or a discount, you specify the program service provider from the list of supported providers.

The Toast platform does not maintain configuration information about loyalty programs and loyalty program discounts. The Toast platform relies on the loyalty program service provider to perform the following tasks:

  • Verify the loyalty program account.

  • Determine whether a check is eligible to be applied to a customer's account.

  • Validate eligibility for a loyalty program discount.
