Toast POS app version 2.75

The following sections describe updates included in the Toast POS app release version 2.75.

Kiosk portrait orientation updates

Toast kiosk devices have been updated in the following ways, when a device is in portrait mode:

  • Previously, the camera on Toast kiosk devices that guests use to scan loyalty program QR codes did not turn on when a kiosk device was in portrait mode. Now, the kiosk camera functions as expected when a kiosk device is in the portrait orientation.

  • Previously, the Back button on the fulfillment screen was not visible when a kiosk device was in portrait mode. Now, the back button can be seen when the device is in portrait mode.

Scales not factoring correct weight for weighted items

Previously, scales were not deducting weights for empty containers (also known as tare weight) for weighted menu items and guests were being overcharged. Scales now deduct the tare weight from a menu item's total weight and guests are charged correctly.

Combo menu items cannot be added to kiosk cart

Previously, while using the new kiosk experience, a menu item configured as a combo could not be added to the cart. With this update, combo menu items can now be added to the cart as expected.

Table layouts have been re-positioned for increased visibility

Previously, table layouts in the table management screen were displayed off-center and zoomed out. Now, table layouts display fully zoomed in and centered on the table management screen.

Manage online ordering channels in the Orders Hub

You can now enable or disable Uber Eats©, DoorDash©, and GrubHub© ordering channels from the Manage Online Orders button on the Orders Hub screen of the Toast POS app.

Additional space on Toast handheld devices when adding menu items

While adding menu items to a check on a Toast handheld device, the collapsible header now automatically closes to provide more space to view the check.

Menu item search bar is no longer compacted

Previously, for restaurants that use Open View, the menu item search bar showed the word Search on two lines. Now, the menu item search bar on the Toast POS app, for restaurants with Open View enabled, is no longer compacted and Search appears on one line as expected.

Toast kiosks now support fundraising campaigns

Toast kiosk devices now support displaying fundraising campaigns created in Toast Web.

Consolidate individual item tickets with more than one quantity

If you have configured each item of an order to appear on separate kitchen tickets (printed or shown on a kitchen display system (KDS)), you can now choose to consolidate menu items of more than one quantity in an order. For example, instead of three separate tickets for 1 burger, 1 burger, and 1 ramen, you will now see two separate tickets: one ticket for 2 burgers and another ticket for 1 ramen. For more information, see the Consolidate Items with Multiple Quantities setting reference.

Average fulfillment timer for KDS devices using grid view

Previously, the average fulfillment timer feature was only available to KDS devices using dynamic view. The average fulfillment timer is now available for KDS devices using grid view. For more information, see Average fulfillment timer.

Note

This feature is in limited release.

Line break for Chinese characters on kitchen tickets

Chinese language menu items are now easier to read on the Kitchen Display Screen (KDS) and on printed kitchen tickets. Menu items with both Roman and Chinese characters (traditional or simplified) are now separate, so Roman characters appear on one line and Chinese characters appear on another line. This way, Chinese menu items are displayed in one line and avoid confusion from an item being displayed on two lines.

Edit shift review using the Time entries panel

You can now edit your own or your employee's shift review using the Time entries panel on the Review Employee Shifts screen of the Toast POS app. For more information, see Editing time entries.
